The one thing to know first
Every class on ilMeet is recorded — always. Video, audio and a transcript are kept for every session, and an automated safety system reviews them. This is not a setting and it is not hidden: it is how the platform protects children in live online lessons. The room shows that recording is on; there is no way to turn it off, for anyone.
What we store
- Staff accounts — name, email address and a securely hashed password, for teachers and administrators. Students never have accounts: they join a class by link, with the name they give at the door.
- Classes — the recording, its transcript, the automated conduct report, and who was in the session (the join name, times, and basic device type).
- Staff chat — messages between staff persist as the organization's own record. A removed message leaves a visible “removed” marker; edits are marked as edits.
- On your device — a sign-in token and your own preferences (theme, devices, captions) in your browser's local storage.
- Server logs — addresses and timestamps, kept briefly for security and abuse prevention.
What we never do
No advertising. No selling or renting data. No trackers beyond what makes the service itself work. Recordings exist for teaching and for safety — not for any other use.
Children
Students join by link, without accounts, and their classes are recorded and automatically reviewed — that is the platform's safety design, not a by-product. Parents and guardians: questions about your child's data go to your academy, which operates the service for its students; the academy can reach us for anything it needs.
Who can see what
Access follows roles inside your academy: teachers see their own classes; administrators manage the organization and can review recordings and reports per its settings. Staff chat is readable by the academy's administrators — the app says this plainly where the channels live.
Retention and removal
Recordings follow the academy's retention settings — kept as its record, or purged on its schedule. Requests to review or remove personal data go to your academy's administrator; where the academy needs us, it contacts us and we act on its instruction.
Service providers
Live video and audio run on real-time media infrastructure operated for the service; invitation emails travel by email. Providers process data only to run the service, never for their own purposes.
Changes, and reaching us
When this page changes, the date below changes with it. Questions — from an academy, a teacher, or a parent via their academy — reach us at support@ilmeet.com.
